The HIGHLANDER Hybrid is available with E-Four- Toyota's motor-assisted four-wheel drive
system that simultaneously achieves exceptional driving performance and fuel efficiency for hybrid vehicles.
The system produces powerful rear-wheel torque via electric motors, which helps achieve
a new dimension in hybrid driving suitable for the HIGHLANDER.

Pre-collision System

Detects vehicles (day and night) on the road ahead by using millimeter-wave radar and monocular camera sensors.
When the system determines that the possibility of a frontal collision with an object is high,
a warning operates to urge the driver to take evasive action and the potential brake pressure is increased to help the driver avoid a collision.
If the system determines that the possibility of a frontal collision with an object is extremely high,
the brakes are automatically applied to help avoid a collision or reduce the impact of a collision.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

DRCC is equipped with millimeter-wave radar and monocular camera sensors to detect vehicles ahead,
and assists following while maintaining a speed-dependent distance to the vehicle in front.
When the vehicle in front is stopped, the system keeps your vehicle stopped
. When the vehicle ahead moves off, you must resume driver operations to move off
and re-start following (with Full Speed Range Following function).

Automatic High Beam

Detects the lights of vehicles ahead and automatically adjusts the headlamps to low or high beam.

Lane Departure Alert

The system warns the driver with a buzzer and alert lamp when
the car begins to leave its lane without turn signal activation from the driver.
The system can also activate steering assist to correct steering inputs
and prevent the vehicle from leaving its lane.
