Special Service Campaign For Avalon & Sequoia Models
On January 30, 2010, Toyota Motor Corporation's Middle East Representative Office (TMC) released a statement in response to Toyota Motor Sales USA's actions that there are no
concerns reported up to date on Avalon and Sequoia in the Middle East relating to the accelerator pedal issue. In the USA, in extreme cold weather conditions, when the heater is
used, condensation may form on the surface of a friction device. If this occurs, there is a possibility that, in the worst case, the accelerator pedal returns slowly or does not
return to its idle position.
TMC has confirmed that two models, Avalon and Sequoia are highly unlikely to experience the same potential accelerator issue due to the climatic conditions in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia.
However, in the interest of delivering the highest standards of guest care and for the guests' complete peace-of-mind, Toyota and Abdul Latif Jameel Co. Ltd. will initiate a
Special Service Campaign in Saudi Arabia to install a small precision-cut steel of reinforcement bar into the accelerator pedal assembly.
